Minsk-based opera (and ballet) company, formed in 1933 and known fully as the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre of the Republic of Belarus.

The first production was Bizet's Carmen, setting the tone for 80 years of famous operas, such as Verdi's Otello and Don Carlo, and a reputation as one of the world's most popular touring opera companies.
