The band was formed in 1915 and is based at Wellington Barracks in London.

The Band of the Welsh Guards are regulars at the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace and the Queen's annual Birthday Parade. The 49-piece outfit also recorded the music of the 2011 wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (William and Kate).
