He was a lead vocalist of Black Ivory during the '70s.

He is related to Thom Bell and Kool & The Gang members Robert 'Kool' Bell and Ronald Bell.

His hits (mainly in the US) include "Heartbreaker" and "Stranger", before he joined Aleem who issued the sought-after electro-soul tracks "Confusion" and "Release Yourself".
