Formerly a musician (with a band called The Carpetsweepers), Robinson moved into stand up after winning a competition for young comedians at the 1993 Glastonbury Festival.

He has regularly hosted his comedy, music and quiz night, 'Quizburger', at the Birmingham Glee Club, has supported Jo Brand and appeared on TV in 'The Stand-Up Show', Channel 5's 'The Comedy Store'.
