Quartet formed in Manchester in 1999, making their Bridgewater Hall debut a year later.

The quartet has an affiliation with Salford University and, alongside regular appearances at the Bridgewater Hall, has also been involved in the BBC Sibelius Festival, BBC/Halle Shostakovitch Festival and 'Haydn the Innovator' festival for BBC Radio 3.
