Stage name of sound artist Carsten Nicolai who uses art and music to create microscopic views of creative processes.

Nicolai has also written an opera, 'Sparkie: Cage and Beyond', in collaboration with Michael Nyman.

His debut solo album, 'Prototypes', was released in 2000.
