Professor Steve Jones is a professor of genetics and (as of 2010) the president of the ASE (The Association of Science for Education). He was twice the head of the Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment at University College London from 1995 to 2010.

Since 1993, he has had numerous books published, including 'The Language of the Genes' and 'Almost Like a Whale: The Origin of Species Updated'.
