Niobe is an opera by Italian composer Agostino Steffani (1654-1728) - widely acclaimed during its inception, but latterly forgotten until a revival at the Schwetzingen Festival in Germany in 2008.

The story revolves around the tale of the Queen of Thebes whose children are doomed to sacrifice following her annoyance of the gods.
