English actor, director and writer who made his stage debut in 1973 and first film appearance in 'Amadeus' in 1984 although his role in 'Four Weddings and a Funeral', as the much-missed Gareth, brought him a wider audience.

He has appeared in many Charles Dickins productions as well as 'There Reigns Love', based on the sonnets of William Shakespeare and also the 2009 production of 'Waiting For Godot'.

Callow has also written biographies, including books on Oscar Wilde and Orson Welles.
