Linton Kwesi Johnson

Linton Kwesi Johnson is a Jamaica-born, UK-based dub poet and activist. Born in Chapelton, Jamaica, he moved to Brixton in 1963. He is known for his pioneering work in dub poetry. While still at school, he joined the British Black Panther Movement. Johnson later became the second living poet, and the only black poet, to have his work published in the Penguin Modern Classics series.

He released his debut album, "Dread Beat an' Blood" (1978), followed by "Forces of Victory" (1979), "Bass Culture" (1980), "LKJ in Dub" (1980), "Making History" (1983), "Tings an' Times" (1991), "LKJ in Dub: Volume 2" (1992), and "More Time" (1998).
