The Lambrettas

Brighton-based Mod-revival band formed in the late 70s although some of their material used ska as an influence.

The band came to prominence with a cover version of The Coasters' song, 'Poison Ivy' in 1980 with other singles including "D-a-a-ance" and "Another Day (Another Girl)".

The key band members include: Doug Sanders - guitar and vocals, Paul Wincer - drums, Philip Edwards - guitar and Chris Venzi-James - bass.

Founding vocalist Jez Bird died of cancer in 2008.
