Salt N Pepa are an American, Grammy award-winning Hip Hop duo (originally a trio), formed in 1985, featuring Cheryl "Salt" (James) - Wray and Sandra "Pepa" Denton. Long-term DJ, Spinderella left the band in 2019.

The band had a crossover hit with the single "Push It", released in 1987. More hits followed, with 'Do You Want Me', 'Let's Talk About Sex', 'Shake Your Thang', 'Get Up Everybody (Get Up)', 'Whatta Man' (featuring En Vogue) and their cover of 'Twist and Shout'
