Estranged [play]

"Estranged is set in a small village in Derbyshire. The play is about sexuality, conformity, family, desire, isolation and escapism; the conflict between what we want and what we do.

Sam is due to marry Sylvia in less than a week. In spite of his mother's wishes he has invited his estranged aunt, Lydia, and her openly gay son, Justin, up from London to stay with them until the wedding. Millicent disowned her sister Lydia eight years ago after she cheated on her husband with a teenager. Unknown to anyone, Justin and Sam had a brief fling when they were teens. When Justin tells his mother about the relationship, she persuades Justin to try and rekindle the affair in order to destroy the wedding and wreck havoc on her moralistic sister's life. But Sylvia also has a shady past which only the best man Martin knows about..."

Written by British playwright Jason Charles.
