Manchester-based post-punk group formed in 1977 by Howard Devoto after he left Buzzcocks in the same year.

Current lineup: Howard Devoto - vocals, Dave Formula - keyboards, Jon White - bass, John Doyle - drums and Noko - guitar.

The band's debut single and album ('Shot By Both Sides' and 'Real Life') are widely regarded as classics, although other key albums include "Secondhand Daylight" and "The Correct Use Of Soap".
