The Minotaur [opera]
Operatic retelling of the myth of the half-bull, half-man Minotaur, which Theseus must evade or smite to escape the labyrinth and be united with Ariadne.
The work is by English composer Harrison Birtwistle to a libretto by poet David Harsent and was commissioned by the Royal Opera House, where it had its premiere in 2008.
