- Eugene Onegin
Eugene Onegin is based on the novel in verse written by Aleksandr Pushkin, first published in 1833. It is performed as a play, a ballet and (more commonly) an opera, set to music composed by Tchaikovsky. Often identified as just 'Onegin'.
"When Tatyana is introduced to the dashing, unconventional Onegin, she believes that he is the hero of her dreams. But he carelessly rejects her - with tragic consequences."
