The band's music is a blend of heavy riffs with deep & powerful vocals interspaced by melodic leads inspired by Carnatic music. Motherjane is all set to release their second album titled Maktub by the end August, 2007.

The band's debut album, Insane Biography was one of the first Indian rock albums to get widespread international air time across different radio stations. The album was also featured in Asian Rock Rising festival in Japan and the song Soul Corporations was subsequently chosen to be featured on a Japanese compilation album. At home, the album got its fair share of praise. Insane Biogrpahy won the award for the Best Indian Rock Album 02-03.
