[1934 - 2016] Leonard Cohen was a highly influential Canadian singer-songwriter, musician, poet and novelist.

For all his awards, widespread acclaim and many commercial and critical hits, he is still best known for his 1984 song 'Hallelujah', covered many times and most famously by Jeff Buckley in 1994.
