New material heralds first studio album for five years, tickets on sale [02/08/2013 9:00]

It's been five long years without a new album from Scots-poppers The Fratellis - but now the wait is over. The one-time BRIT-winning outfit's third full-length set is being buffed up ready for an autumn release and marks the first album since the not-really-brothers reconvened last year.

"We Need Medicine" will follow-up previous releases "Here We Stand" and the triple-platinum debut "Costello Music", which featured all-sports accompanying knees-up "Chelsea Dagger" and "Whistle For The Choir". It will also put an end (temporarily) to their busy solo schedules which spawned Jon's album "Psycho Jukebox" and a collaborative project with Lou Hickey called Codeine Velvet Club.

With Barry joining upcoming Birmingham outfit The Twang and 'Mince' rocking out with Throne o'Diablo up until last year, it looked as though The Fratellis were all but buried - pah, no chance. They're back with this new album AND a full UK tour to boot.

Dates for their autumn 2013 jaunt include Bournemouth on 17th November, followed by Lincoln, Leeds, Norwich and many more, including London, until hitting their hometown Glasgow on the 29th.

Tickets are on sale now, priced from £23 upwards.

Prior to the tour, you can catch the band performing at this year's V Festival (Sunday tickets for Chelmsford remain, all others sold out) and Brownstock festival - (also Chelmsford - tickets available.
