The Week Ahead: Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Iron Maiden, Standon Calling 2013, Regina Spektor, Lee Nelson and more

Posted: 10 years ago
The week ahead from Monday 29th July 2013 also includes: Oxegen 2013, Heaven 17, Pitbull, The Damned, Monster Magnet, Texas is the Reason, Howard Marks and many more

With the heat still lingering across the country, there is still an array of hot entertainment out there, both outside and indoors. Capital cities fare well with events next week - if you're in Edinburgh at any point during August, you'll run into the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Dublin will treat you to Ireland's huge Oxegen 2013 festival and London boasts a huge comedy gathering called Phoenix Fringe.

Staying with London, Iron Maiden will perform two huge shows at the O2 Arena, while further afield you can see Texas is the Reason on the last ever tour plus shows from The Damned, Monster Magnet and Heaven 17. Audley End and Lytham also have outdoor concert events, starring the best in pop and classical.

For light relief, why not take the kids to see Wizard of Oz? - a great show at any time of year. The adults can chortle at Lee Nelson or Howard Marks...
