It's only been a couple of years since the last Arctic Monkeys album but, boy, have we missed them. The wait will soon come to an end - "AM", their fifth studio set in seven years, is set for release in September and, on the evidence of recent video-single "Do I Wanna Know?", could be a belter with a slight change in direction.
The album is mooted to have a string of guest stars on it, including man-of-the-moment Josh Homme and acclaimed musicians Bill Ryder-Jones and Pete Thomas, plus a cover of John Cooper-Clarke's superb "I Wanna Be Yours".
Not surprisingly, a tour has also been confirmed. It'll be an arena tour, starting in Newcastle on 22nd October before continuing to Manchester, Earl's Court, Liverpool and more until home-town Sheffield on 2nd November. Support comes from Ireland's The Strypes.
Tickets are on sale now, priced from £25-£35 upwards. Supports will be announced in due course.
The tour will follow a summer of festival slots including Glastonbury on Friday 28th June - get in!
