Win tickets to the Street Sounds Summer Ball 2013 in London

Posted: 10 years ago
Rose Royce, Crown Heights Affair, The Sugarhill Gang and more to perform at the huge bash - we have a pair of tickets up for grabs!

In 2012, iconic soul and dance label and brand Street Sounds celebrated 30 years in business with a brace of events and numerous shows on Solar Radio. If you thought that was the end of the celebrations, think again because Morgan Khan's famous imprint is ready to 'take it to another level', to paraphrase their PR quote. And that level can only mean one thing - a massive party.

Following on from the previous year's celebratory nights, the Coronet Theatre will welcome back founder Khan plus DJ hosts Andy Smith and Peter P and live acts, more DJs, competitions and a whole lot more for the Street Sounds Summer Ball 2013. The date to remember is 22nd June.

Musically this means old school funk, soul, disco, hip-hop, reggae and all manner of classic '80s tunes. Some of those classics will come from the first main acts just announced. Rose Royce typifies disco and soul music with tracks such as "Car Wash", "Wishing On A Star", "Is It Love You're After" and "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" - they'll perform for over an hour, their first European show in six years.

Straight out of the funk and disco traps will come Crown Heights Affair who will perform an hour of belters such as "Galaxy of Love" and "Far Out", while The Sugarhill Gang will show why they remain pioneers of hip-hop with "Rapper's Delight" and "8th Wonder" and '80s soul-diva Fonda Rae will entertain with "Tuch Me" and more. Add in DJ action from DMC champion DJ Chad Jackson and a host of others and you have quite a night. Tickets are on sale now, priced from £46.50.

But who wants to get in for nothing? We have a pair of tickets for one lucky entrant to take his or her chosen partner for an unforgettable night out on 22nd June.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning tickets is click on the enter competition button below!

The competition is open to UK residents only and you will have to arrange your own travel and accommodation - other than that, the night is yours. The competition closes on Sunday 26th May. Good luck!
