It's blimmin' cold out right? Who needs to head out into that when there's a new DVD/Blu-Ray/CD release out by Dave Grohl to be viewed.

Presuming they haven't lost power supplies, the two lucky recipients of copies of Grohl's fantastic "Sound City" film and soundtrack, released last week on various formats. The documentary follows Grohl's adventures in his studio after installing the revered and hallowed mixing desk from said Sound City studios.

Previously, the likes of Metallica, Fleetwood Mac and Johnny Cash have recorded on it and so what better way to celebrate its very existence than to, well, record on it again? Paul McCartney, Josh Homme and Stevie Nicks are just a few of the guests on the album, making it collectable across a wide fanbase, as well as Foo Fighters own legion of followers.
