Goodnight Mister Tom follows the journey of a young boy, William Beech, as he is evacuated from London during the air-raids of World War II and put into the care of Tom Oakley, an elderly recluse. It is here William finds more than just protection from the falling bombs and Tom Oakley also finds himself saved by young William.
Now a modern classic, Michelle Magorian's wonderfully uplifting tale is brought gloriously to life in a brand new stage adaptation by David Wood, with Olivier Award-winning actor Oliver Ford Davies starring as Mister Tom.
Winner of the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize and commended for the Carnegie Medal, this brand new production marks the 30th Anniversary of the publication of the novel. Goodnight Mister Tom continues to inspire audiences and bring generations together.
The London leg of the show is at Phoenix Theatre, which ends on 26th January 2013. Nationwide tour stops at Manchester, Sunderland, Milton Keynes, Brighton, York, Woking, Aylesbury, Glasgow and ends in Birmingham on 13th April.
