Congratulations are in order for Everything Everything - they've just notched up their very first Top 40 single in the form of "Cough Cough", the lead-off cut from their forthcoming album "Arc", due out on 14th January 2013. In this day and age of downloads re-entering playlists and charts left right and centre, Jonathan Higgs' and crew have done pretty well.

And it isn't altogether surprising when you consider the airplay, the acclaim, the awards and the fanbase they've accrued in recent years, suffice to say that singer Jonathan Higgs and bassist Jeremy Pritchard have put their Popular Music degrees to bloody good use. Debut-album "Man Alive" dented the Top 20 and earned them a Mercury Music Prize nomination, resulting in various key support slots along the way, including Snow Patrol and Muse, both this year.

After supporting Matt Bellamy's charges in Dublin, the band will head to Manchester for the XFM Winter Wonderland 2012 show with Bloc Party and Maximo Park (£25), followed by a full UK tour next year which kicks off in Southsea on 6th February, followed by Brighton on the 7th and many more until returning to their home city on 22nd February.

No London show as yet - meanwhile, you should head back to this very page at 9am Friday 2nd November to pick up tickets - they're bound to sell out! Prices start at £14.
