Next spring, Emeli Sandé will be back performing some shows around the UK, starting with Birmingham on 26th March 2013, followed by Edinburgh, Manchester, Brighton, Bristol and finally, Hammersmith on 9th April. Of course this would all be very good news if she hadn't already sold out ALL the shows in one fell swoop. Good news for Londoners, at least - the diminutive singer has kindly added yet another Hammersmith show.
Fast turning into a residency, Sande's third gig at the Apollo will take place on 10th April 2013 and will go on sale from us at 9am Friday 7th December, priced upwards of £27.50. We will let you know when further 2013 dates are announced.
The creator of one of the year's biggest-selling albums has come a long way since our first article about her - Emeli Sandé is no longer a mere mention in our weekly round-ups, she's a fully-blown headlining gal who has chalked up a #1 album, a handful of hits, triumphant festival slots and the enviable landmark of performing at both the opening and closing ceremonies at this year's Olympics. Quite an achievement.
Not surprisingly, with Christmas looming on the horizon, her multi-platinum debut-album "Our Version of Events" has been readied for the festive rush and another challenge for the top spot on the album charts (it's already been #1 five times!). A Special Edition has been issued with her rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine", plus a clutch of extras and a new sleeve.
Ahead of the 2013 dates, you can catch Emeli at the annual Crisis Presents Christmas bash - also at the Hammersmith Apollo. The 19th December event will star Paul Weller, Emeli and Miles Kane and will be hosted by funny-man Ben Elton, with tickets starting from £39.50 - proceeds to the homeless charity Crisis (www.crisis.org.uk).
