Some marriages are made in heaven, while others find their sparks in slightly less romantic locations. Such as Butlins in Barry Island (hello mum). The seeds for Kerry Ellis and Brian May's (platonic) love-in were sown in the wings of the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane.

Their journey together began around a decade ago when Ellis was understudy to Martine McCutcheon for the London revival of My Fair Lady. May heard her sing and immediately fell for her vocal charms. With May's encouragement, Kerry Ellis was then cast as Meat in We Will Rock You before eye-catching turns in Miss Saigon, Les Misérables, Wicked, Oliver! and Chess. Not a bad CV at all.

With Brian May's support (and a credit as producer), Kerry Ellis released her debut studio album Anthems in 2010. A year or so later, she rather bewilderingly failed to impress the coaches on the BBC show The Voice amid suggestions that as an established 'star', she wasn't right for the show. But Ellis is simply too talented to go quietly and her stunning voice can be heard coupled with May's legendary guitar-bothering on an acoustic candlelit jaunt this autumn, all in support of the Born Free Foundation.

The duo kick off their intimate tour at the Apex in Bury St Edmunds on Bonfire Night, 5th November, followed by dimly lit dates in Leamington Spa, Corby, Brighton and more, before the final show at the Wycombe Swan on 19th November 2012. There is a London gig at the Union Chapel on 11th November. We have tickets available now, priced from around £40.
