A new musical about JM Barrie's creation of Peter Pan opens in Leicester this weekend with a London transfer expected to follow - we have tickets for the Leicester run on sale now

Harvey Weinstein may not have a face familiar from the big screen but he is an ever-present and effervescent Hollywood figure who is so well regarded that his is one of the few who can be founding splitting A-listers in the front row at the Oscars.

As a co-founder of Miramax films, the producer made his name taking a chance funding movies that other studios might not touch. In 2012, the apprentice has become the sorcerer and there can be few more powerful men in Hollywood. Steven Spielberg, perhaps, and... no, just Spielberg.

After projects including Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Sin City, Scream, Chicago and Shakespeare in Love, and an Oscar for the latter, Harvey Weinstein has also carved out a seven-time Tony-winning career in the theatre, not least with The Producers and Billy Elliott the Musical.

In 2012, the producer has turned his attention to a stage production of his 2004 film Finding Neverland, which starred Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet and Dustin Hoffman. Finding Neverland - The Musical has seen Weinstein invest a reported $10 million in the production; the musical story of how the writer JM Barrie was inspired to create the now familiar world of Peter Pan.

Finding Neverland - The Musical has its world premiere at the Curve Theatre in Leicester this weekend, running until 13th October. We have tickets available now for most dates, priced from just £10. Harvey Weinstein is keen to see Finding Neverland transfer to the West End and eventually Broadway and you'd be a brave soul to bet against the legendary producer - watch this space!
