Dogs, then. Anyone who has tried to coax a hyperactive cocker spaniel into the house on a cold rainy night when said dog seems intent only on digging under the shed looking for God-knows-what, while the whole house waits to go to bed, will be familiar with Cesar Millan.

The Mexico-born American has been telling global audiences exactly how to become 'pack leader' and to 'use your dog's instincts' for around a decade with his global hit show The Dog Whisperer. And while 'whispering', per se, is not alone an effective strategy for stopping your unhinged spaniel jumping in the canal for the fourth time this week, there is no denying that Cesar Millan's take on dog psychology and responsible ownership is very impressive.

The success of his approach has seen his books sell millions of copies, his Dog Whisperer show exported to more than 80 countries worldwide and earned Cesar some impressive celebrity clients including Scarlett Johansson, Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey, Nicholas Cage and Scarlett Johansson (yes, we know we mentioned her twice).

And his latest show, Trust Your Instincts Live, is returning to Europe next year with some pretty impressive spring UK dates lined up. The huge tour kicks off in Sheffield on 12th April, followed by shows in Newcastle, Edinburgh, London, Manchester and more before the final date announced so far at the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham on 28th April 2013.

The big arena shows are at Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena (20th April), Wembley Arena (21st April), the Bournemouth International Centre (24th April) and the NIA date. We will have tickets available from 9am on Monday 22nd October, priced from around £40.

Update: 2013 UK Tour Cancelled

The promoters of the "Cesar Millan Live: Trust Your Instincts" Tour have today (1st March) announced the postponement of the 2013 UK tour. A statement on the official Cesar Millan website reads:

We regret to inform you that the Cesar Millan Live: Trust Your Instincts Tour has been postponed due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts with Mr. Millan's television obligations and other projects, requiring him to stay in the United States.
All tickets will be refunded to ticket holders from the original point of purchase.
