We all know what a spot of hype can do, either by word of mouth, press hysteria or Simon Cowell. But, here's an outfit that may yet prove to be worthy of being featured in just about every online critique in the blogosphere. London pair Aluna Francis and George Reid have been making a bit of a name for themselves with the track 'Just a Touch' (video included here, folks), a neat piece of tech-soul that sounds like Lianne La Havas if she gave James Blake or Rustie a good old snog.
Their next project, released in October, is the worldwide issue of 'Your Drums, Your Love' which follows on from 'Just a Touch' and their guest appearance on Rustie's recent and rather ace 'After Light' track. Even more memorable and commercial than before, the new single looks set to get the radio play and some recognition, as well as a keen audience for their upcoming UK tour in the autumn - which all leads back to that hype bit - you really should see them.
Their next show is a biggie - Brixton Academy is holding a massive Rinse FM showcase on Saturday 29th September and features the duo plus Boy Better Know, Modeselektor, Claude VonStroke, Zinc, Wookie, Ms Dynamite and loads more British talent. Tickets are on sale through us for just £17.50 - hurry, this will sell out.
November will see AlunaGeorge hitting the road for their first decent sized tour, starting in Birmingham on 15th November, followed by Nottingham, Bristol, Leeds, Manchester and finally back home in London, this time in Shoreditch. We have tickets for all shows now with some priced as little as £7.
