It's been another decent year for the three brothers from Wakefield. Their fifth studio album, In the Belly of the Brazen Bull, was released in May and although it was their first full-length release not to outperform the last it still did very well, checking into the UK Top Ten at a respectable No 9.

When the new record was issued, The Cribs played a sold-out spring tour and have since enjoyed a busy summer of sporadic promotional live bits and pieces including supporting Kasabian (last night) and, soon, appearances at the festival season's top table with slots at Leeds and Reading.

Having shrugged off the departure of sometime member Johnny Marr, Ryan, Garry and Ross are still flagbearers not just for Wakey but also for Yorkshire and the UK as they continue to enjoy a huge cult following as one of this country's finest indie rock outfits. The crowds for this weekend's festival shows will be further testament, if any were needed.

The autumn tour kicks off with an appearance at Cardiff's SWN Festival on 19th October, followed by October shows in Oxford, Norwich, Manchester, Edinburgh (as the headliners for Haddow Fest 2012) and more. November begins with a Leicester Academy gig on the 1st, then shows in Hull, York and Leamington Spa before the last date of the tour at the HMV Institute on Tuesday 6th November 2012.

We will have tickets available for all the post-SWN dates at 9.30am on Friday 31st August. Ahead of the autumn gigs, you can catch The Cribs at Reading tomorrow and at Leeds on Sunday.
