Now here's some news to cheer up the most cynical Green Day fan - your favourite band are heading to West London later this week for a special show! Thursday 23rd August will see the multi-platinum selling punksters tear up Shepherd's Bush Empire with an exclusive never-to-be-repeated performance.

We will have tickets on sale for this show from midday tomorrow, Tuesday 21st August. Ticket prices aren't cheap - £45 - but you can expect a run-through of forthcoming album '¡Uno!', as well as a catalogue-squeezing setlist. Tickets will no doubt sell out in seconds, regardless.

The big question on every Twitterer's lips currently is, "are they playing Reading at the weekend?". It's a possibility but until it's confirmed, it's merely conjecture and a bit of teasing on the part of some fanatics. Reading still has some tickets left - Friday, a prime day for some Green Day action, we reckon. It'll cost £85 for a day ticket.

While you're thinking about that, you'll be excited to know that Green day have also unveiled a new single from the aforementioned new album. 'Oh Love', the last track on '¡Uno!', is doing the rounds on You Tube and being premiered on the band's website at the moment and will no doubt feature at the band's show on Thursday.
