Brixton Academy will host final gig by award-winning rockers in December, tickets on sale Friday 17th August

Never hold your breath when a band says 'we quit'. Last year the band played what they called their final shows, but they weren't actually the REAL farewell shows because nobody in the band had really told each other and like, well, you go fathom it out. Whichever way this episode ends, Alexisonfire are definitely splitting up after this 'Farewell Tour'. Honest.

The dates have been scattered across Brazil, Australia, Canada...and Brixton, the only UK show and it's on 3rd December 2012. You have around four months to get accommodation and transport sorted out and precisely 7 days to get funds together to buy tickets - these will go on sale via us from 9am on Friday 17th August, priced at £25 + fees.

In just ten years, Alexisonfire have won a raft of awards for recordings related to their album catalogue, including Juno Awards (Canadian Brits) - not bad for a band with a sound as subtle as a pitbull's kiss. Since 2002, the band have unleashed four studio albums, the last of which was 2009's "Old Crows/Young Cardinals" a double set with an accompanying EP. The band members have been increasingly involved in other projects of late with Dallas Green in City and Colour and Wade MacNeil in The Black Lungs [and now the lead singer with Gallows - Ed].

Good luck grabbing those tickets - they'll be gone in the proverbial 60 seconds...
