Howler to be inaugural headliners for NME Generation Next UK tour

Posted: 11 years ago
The Cast of Cheers and Gross Magic also appearing on October jaunt, tickets on sale from Friday 3rd August

NME's tireless pursuit of the next big thing and future proofing of the young minds reading their magazine continues apace with the announcement of another branded series of shows for the autumn. Following on from the brand's successful Awards tours, Weekenders and Radar shows, Generation Next will be an occasional series of shows that strives to pinpoint an influential band or artist from recent history, arm with upcoming support and aim them in the general direction of you, dear reader.

For the very first Generation Next tour, NME have selected a bit of a whirlwind in the shape of indie-rockers Howler who haven't wasted any time in heading back to the UK after several sell-out shows, festival slots, the well-received 'America Give Up' album and being voted in the magazine's Best New Band Poll in 2011. Joining them will be Choice Music Prize nominees Cast of Cheers and mysterious Brighton soloist Gross Magic.

In the true time-honoured tradition of previous NME tours, you won't have to break the bank to fork out for tickets - they all cost £10, bar the London one which is £12. The tour kicks off in Bournemouth on 19th October, followed by stops such as Bristol, Norwich and more until London's KOKO on 30th and Brighton on 31st. We will have all shows on sale from 9am Friday 3rd August
