US hip-hop star B.o.B announces autumn 2012 UK and Ireland dates

Posted: 11 years ago
The rapper will be playing seven dates in September, including a gig at the IndigO2 - tickets on sale Friday 22nd June 2012

The debut album from Bobby Ray Simmons Jr, aka B.o.B., was 2010's B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray. The said adventures were not the worn out clichés of American gangster rap, those of girls, grills, guns and gold, but more a record of fresh urban beats and hip hop unencumbered by the expectations of a tiring genre.

It was a huge hit, topping the US Billboard charts and spawning a number of successful singles including UK (and US) chart-topper Nothin' On You. With contributors including Eminem, Janelle Monae and Bruno Mars, The Adventures of Bobby Ray cheerfully blended the rapper's own tales with a broadly appealing sound. B.o.B.'s second full-length studio record, Strange Clouds, was released last month and again performed well, making the Billboard Top Five and topping both the Rap and R&B countdowns stateside. In the UK, it pitched into our Top 40 at a very respectable No 30. And the rapper is keeping the momentum going with an autumn tour.

B.o.B. begins his UK and Ireland tour in Newcastle on 15th September, followed by a Dublin date at the Olympia Theatre on 18th. The rapper returns to the UK with gigs in Manchester, Sheffield, London and Norwich, before the final date announced so far at the HMV Temple in Birmingham on 24th September. The London gig is at the IndigO2 on Friday 21st September.

We will have tickets available from 9am on Friday 22nd June, priced from €21.40 for Dublin and from around £15 for the UK shows - be sure to bookmark this page ahead of another buys Friday morning of ticket sales.
