If you're at a wedding and the DJ puts on a track by Madness, most likely One Step Beyond, stand well back and observe all the men over 35 doing 'the dance'. It is, for want of a better word, madness.

Around 35 years since the pop-ska outfit hit on a chart-friendly formula for their rich, warm, quietly humourous music, songs from Suggs, Chas, Kix and pals remain a call to arms at any gathering where there is loud music and sufficient room to theatrically run on the spot and pump your arms. It is an unwritten rule that The Dance usually changes to a more freeform style mid-way through any Madness song as few men over 35 can keep up that level of exertion for more than a minute or two.

But such responses inspire deep affection for the music and the band which produced it. Three decades after Complete Madness topped the UK album chart, the sounds of House of Fun, It Must Be Love. My Girl and The Prince still make people smile. And dance.

Madness begin their Winter 2012 tour in Cardiff on 30th November, followed by shows in Bournemouth, Nottingham, Liverpool, Glasgow and more, before the final date at The O2 Arena in London on 14th December 2012. We will have tickets available from 9am on Friday 25th May.

Ahead of the winter dates, Madness will be bringing their mayhem to various venues throughout the summer, including slots at the Isle of Wight Festival 2012 and V Festival 2012, plus a host of racecourse gigs and other dates. They're also hosting the Madness Weekender at Butlins in Minehead in November, a week before the tour. We have a wide selection of tickets available now - see below.
