Prepare for some Mindless Self Indulgence - autumn 2012 UK dates announced

Posted: 11 years ago
The four-piece are bringing their genre-busting 'synthcore' to these shores in October beginning in Manchester, tickets on sale Friday 18th May

If Sigue Sigue Sputnik had got it right instead of so horribly wrong, New York's Mindless Self Indulgence are probably the band Martin Degville and co would have wanted to be. So many groups try to catch the eye with self-styled 'genre busting' but comparatively few seduce the ear. MSI are an exception.

At one time characterising their genre as 'industrial jungle pussy punk' (a claim they later distanced themselves from, presumably because it was simply too restrictive), Jimmy Urine and Steve Righ?'s charges please fans of hardcore, industrial rock, emo/scream and almost anyone who likes their punk served with generous scoops of synth and electro beats.

This one-time industrial jungle pussy punk has propelled MSI to considerable success, with their third record, 2005's You'll Rebel to Anything, breaking into the US Indie chart Top Five. Their fourth LP, If (2008), did better still; reaching No 2 on the indie countdown and peaking at No 27 on the main Billboard chart. Not bad at all.

The short, sharp tour kicks off at the Manchester Academy on 25th October, followed by Glasgow and Birmingham, before the final date of the run at the HMV Forum in London on 28th October completing a breathless four shows in four days. We will have tickets available from 9am on Friday 18th May 2012, priced from £15.
