Deer Tick announce summer 2012 UK tour

Posted: 12 years ago
The Rhode Islanders with a reputation for raucous live shows are coming to the UK in August, tickets on sale now - and free download available

As any pub quiz-goer worth their salt will tell you, Rhode Island is, by area, the smallest state in America. For such a small acreage, Rhode Island packs quite a punch; perhaps due to its prominent east coast position and comparatively dense population.

Adding their considerable voice to the cacophony emanating from The Ocean State come folk-blues outfit Deer Tick. Formed in the state capital, Providence, around eight years ago, Deer Tick have grown from a outfit which performed mostly covers to an original band of growing repute.

The band's fourth studio album, last year's Divine Providence, was the latest step on a journey away from the rootsy folk of their 2007 debut, War Elephant. The new, punkier sound has dovetailed nicely with Deer Tick's penchant for lively gigs that set the pulse racing. Recent track 'Born at Zero', taken from the Tim EP is available to stream or download the for free, right here: www.soundcloud.com/loose-music/deer-tick-born-at-zero

Deer Tick kick off their tour in Bedford on 17th August, followed by dates in Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and more, before the final gig of the run at Scala in London on 5th September. We have tickets available now, priced from £10 (for Liverpool) to £13 (for London).
