Stefan Abingdon, Dru Wakely and Ashley Horne form one of those rare success stories which combine genuine musical talent with an ear for comedy. Flight of the Conchords are another, so are Tenacious D; there aren't many more.
The Midnight Beast, 'TMB', first began to roar in late 2009 when their parody of Ke$ha's TiK ToK proved to be a viral hit, even attracting praise from the singer herself. Since then, they've been on a couple of sold-out tours and released a book. A sort of boy-band 'official annual', Book At Us Now was another hit; helping TMB to past the 50 million views mark on YouTube and generating enough publicity to help them sell out Camden's KOKO venue faster than any other unsigned band before them.
And you'll be hearing a lot more from them later in the year as they have their very own six-part E4 television show coming up. The self-titled sitcom follows fictionalized version of Stefan, Dru and Ashley and their attempts to make it as musicians. A debut album will accompany the show and the autumn tour is likely to seal the deal, making TMB headlines as both comedians and musicians and making tracks like Pizza In Ibiza and Just Another Boy Band hits all over again.
The I Kicked A Tour in the Face Tour begins in Glasgow (where else) on 2nd October, followed by shows in Manchester, Leeds, Cardiff, Bristol and more, before the final date of the tour at London's Shepherds Bush Empire on 15th October 2012.
We will have tickets available for all dates when they go on sale at 9am on Saturday 28th April, priced from £17.50.
