After eight years with Australian power-pop outfit Savage Garden, Darren Hayes, the band's singer and principle songwriter, embarked on a solo career in 2001. Following the worldwide success of Savage Garden, who amassed a couple of American No 1 singles and global album sales of 24 million, was always going to be tough. For Hayes, it was made tougher still by revelations about his private life and a few unsavoury spats played out in the media.

A decade or so on, Hayes is happily out and in a civil partnership. Musically, the turbulence also appears to have settled and his fourth solo record, last year's Secret Codes and Battleships, saw a return to the Australian Top Ten. Last year, Hayes embarked on UK tour, taking the latest record to a clutch of cities but, in Darren's mind, missing out a few key venues and leaving him with unfinished business.

So, in autumn 2012, the singer is returning to these shores for a series of dates across England, Scotland and Ireland with the The Secret's Out Tour; no doubt a reference to both the album title and his own status as 'out'.

The Secret's Out Tour kicks off at The Sage in Gateshead, followed by dates in Glasgow, London (IndigO2), Birmingham and Manchester, before the final gig at The Dome in Brighton on Saturday 29th September 2012. There's also a Dublin show at Vicar Street on 27th September.

We will have tickets from 9am on Thursday 5th April, priced generally from £19.50 (£22.50 for London, £25 for Glasgow). Tickets for Dublin are €36.50.
