We may be a whole summer away from the next series of Strictly Come Dancing but long before we feast on Euro 2012 and the small matter of the Olympics, anticipation is already building with a the announcement of a tour featuring some of the show's stars.

Even as we start to dream of long days at the beach, it seems we're never that far away from the seaside glamour of the dancefloor and a huge tour has been scheduled for June and July. The Strictly Dance to the Music tour will featuring the 2010 series champion, the acclaimed actress and all-round isn't-she-lovely Kara Tointon, along with her dance partner Artem Chigvintsev. There will be no judges and no pesky rules curbing their enthusiasm as the winning couple are joined by Strictly professionals Robin Windsor and the always eye-catching Kristina Rhiannoff.

The cast of familiar faces is completed by the TV show's musical director Dave Arch who will lead the programme's resident band in accompanying the dancers. Expect heel-turns, pointed toes (I said POINTED), waxed chests and lots and lots of sequins.

The tour kicks off in Ipswich on 5th June, before sashaying along to Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Llandudno and many more before the final date in Southend on 3rd July 2012. There is a London date at the IndigO2 on 6th June.
