He may have a name like the latest Chrysler SUV, or a Transformer, but Maverick Sabre is very much the real thing. Born in London as plain-ole Michael Stafford, 'Sabre' grew up in Ireland, only returning to the UK when he found inspiration in Plan B's post-Jamie T urban musical stylings.

Having initially found success in Ireland as a featured vocalist, Sabre returned to the UK to make his mark, most notably, on Professor Green's 2011 hit Jungle. He also popped up on True Tiger's In The Air (also with Green).

But a rapper and vocalist of Stafford's calibre was never going to be limited to walk-on parts in others' projects and soon enough he was releasing his own material, culminating in his debut solo album, Lonely Are The Brave, issued in January. Following two Top 20 singles from the record, the album's fourth single, I Used To Have It All, is released in April ahead of an increasingly busy time for the in-demand Sabre.

The tour kicks off in Newcastle on 21st September, followed by dates in Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham and more, before the final gig of the run at the Brixton Academy on Saturday 10th October 2012. We will have tickets available from 9am on Friday 30th March, priced £18.50 for Brixton and £16 for all other venues.

But before all of that, Maverick Sabre has a busy summer of festivals including appearances at Mallorca and Ibiza Rocks, Beach Break Live , Chester Rocks and the Wireless Festival, with more to follow no doubt. We have a selection of tickets available now, check below.
