Despite the huge electricity consumption involved, Benjamin Francis Leftwich is becoming accustomed to seeing his Scrabble-winning name in lights.

No sooner has one success been toasted and buttered, along comes another headline, five-star review or accolade, pushing the indie folkster from York ever higher up the pecking order. In November last year, we previewed Benjamin's February UK tour which followed a near sold out tour of the US and the release of his debut LP, 'Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm', which has entered to warm applause everywhere it goes.

The success of 'Last Smoke Before the Snowstorm' has cemented Benjamin Francis Leftwich in the national consciousness, following up excellent exposure on Radio 1, 6 Music and elsewhere, and cracking the UK Top 40 - something of an achievement for a homegrown folk/acoustic artist.

Three short months after Allgigs joined in talking up BFL, and with the songwriter having sold out all of the February dates, he's at it again, announcing a 40-date US tour, beginning at SXSW in March, to be followed by a new UK tour for October 2012.

The huge October trip will be more rollercoaster than joyride, taking in 25 gigs in 29 days, beginning in Brighton on the 1st. Benjamin and his band then visit Bournemouth, Swansea, Oxford, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool and loads more, before the final date in Wrexham on 29th October 2012.

We will have tickets available when they go on sale, mostly, on Wednesday 29th February and Thursday 1st March, priced from £12.

Ahead of the autumn tour, he's also playing the Evolution Festival 2012 in Newcastle and Gateshead on Sunday 3rd June - we've tickets on sale now from £25.
