The last of the major festivals has finally unveiled its line-up for 2012 - V Festival, set to take place at Chelmsford's Hylands Park and Stafford's Weston Park looks a safe bet for anyone who has already previously-available Early Birds, although, it has to be said, reactions on V's Facebook page have been rather mixed, to put it mildly.

The big four headliners this year are The Stone Roses and, in what appears to be their only UK show for 2012, The Killers, plus Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and Snow Patrol. If some of you desire some poppier artists, you can cop a load of Nicki Minaj, Tinie Tempah, Ed Sheeran, Keane, Example and Olly Murs, while classic indie from 'back in the day' is well-repped by Happy Mondays, The Enemy, Shed Seven and Inspiral Carpets. Performances of the festival will surely come from Tom Jones, Frank Turner and Madness - oh and Dappy's gonna be there as well. More artists will be announced in due course (they've got four stages to fill, after all) plus a comedy line-up for the Glee Club comedy tent.

The 2012 V Festival will take place on 18th and 19th August with The Stone Roses and Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds performing in Hylands Park on the first day (Saturday), while The Killers and Snow Patrol hit Weston Park on the same day. The roles are reversed on the Sunday.

Tickets will go on sale from Friday morning at 10am at various prices such as £149 for weekend non-camping and £175 with camping.
