Debut headline tour to start in June 2012 - tickets now on sale

These days, there certainly isn't a dearth of melodramatic balladry going on at the moment - Adele possibly the creator of the most memorable tearjerkers - which means there are many more songwriters queuing up to make a grab for the perfect blub.

Young Ben Montague is one such similar composer who has quietly gone about his business, yet has gained thousands of admirers for his grown-up approach to self-produced and self-penned emotion. Comparing him to Olly Murs and Will Young might seem a little lazy, but this man hasn't been plucked from a queue of X Factor or Britain's Got Talent and thrust into a spotlight, under strictly Cowell orders - he's done it all himself, so far. Well, with a little help from his friends.

His most familiar song so far is 'Haunted', cunningly embedded in this article. Written with Ben's Brother member Jamie Hartman, the piano ballad just scraped a Top 100 placing last year which belies its popularity perhaps. Fast-forward to 2011 and a full-blown album in 'Overcome', Montague has more in his canon and looks set to impress as he takes up the supporting role with The Wanted - no small cookies.

With many of the chart-topping band's arena shows now selling out, your next chance to catch the singer in action is one of his own headliners - lucky for you he's got a whole string of them coming up!

Originally scheduled for April, the tour will now take place in June, with the first stop being Mr Kyps in Poole on 7th, followed by a date in Birmingham, London, Nottingham, Sheffield and more until Liverpool on 29th June at the O2 Academy (moved from Eric's).

Tickets on sale now.
