Slow Club speed out of blocks with huge 2012 UK tour - tickets on sale Friday, 3rd Feb

Posted: 12 years ago

Sheffield's Slow Club have been gradually building momentum since forming in 2006 from the embers of The Lonely Hearts, with duo Charles Watson and Rebecca Taylor clocking up an impressive list of TV credits for their Yorkshire-accented folk rock.

The track 'Apples and Pairs' was used by the sponsors of ITV's Dancing On Ice and in the NBC show Chuck. 'Let's Fall Back In Love' was used in an ad campaign in Australia, while 'Thinking, Drinking, Sinking, Feeling' fronted a crisps commercial in the US. 'When I Go' was used to sell crackers stateside. Another was used in 'Gossip Girl'. Not bad at all.

Aside from their commercial appeal, the albums 'Yeah So' (2009) and last year's follow-up 'Paradise' have both been warmly received. Ahead of the tour, Slow Club will released a reworked version of their album track (from 'Paradise') 'The Dog' in late March.

Slow Club kick off their UK tour at Glasgow's King Tuts Wah Wah Hut on 4th April, followed by dates in Aberdeen, Wakefield, Manchester, Portsmouth, Brighton, Bristol and more, before the final gig of the tour at the Hare and Hounds in Birmingham on 19th May.

We will have tickets available when they go on sale at 9AM on Friday 3rd February, priced £10. Note: tickets for the Cambridge date are already on sale.

Ahead of the full tour, Slow Club are playing Brudenell Social in Leeds on 8th February, followed the next night with a headline slot at the NME Awards Tour 2012 show at London's Heaven, with support from Gross Magic and Kwes. We have tickets available for both, priced £10 and £12.60 respectively.
