Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem members construct New Build - 2012 UK tour confirmed, tickets on sale now

LCD Soundsystem

With the demise of James Murphy's LCD Soundsystem and the seemingly extended hiatus by Hot Chip, just what is a dance group to do? Why, you form another band of course!

DFA cohorts Al Doyle (a Chip and LCD member), Felix Martin (a Chipster also) and engineer and producer Tom Hopkins kick-started their New Build sideline project last year with the release of a limited edition 12" release, 'Misery Loves Company', but 2012 sees all three building on their previous reputations with a UK tour and more new songs.

Hot Chip have been the darlings of the UK electro scene since 2006, knocking out naggingly catchy hits such as 'Over and Over' and 'Ready For The Floor', while LCD Soundsystem's chops were confirmed with the release of their self-titled debut album seven years ago, followed up by the cracking 'Sound of Silver' opus in 2007.

Therefore, it comes a small surprise that New Build aren't anything like either band's receding output. Gone are the squiggly synth hooks of the former and the pounding beats of the latter and in come fairly straightforward indie-pop songs such as 'Misery...' and their new single out on 20th February, 'Do You Not Feel Loved?'. Actually, this new song is a little more like Hot Chip chilling out and it's rather lush - check it out on the player above!

To support the new release, New Build are on tour in March, starting in Glasgow on the 6th, followed by Leeds, Manchester, London and finally (for now) Brighton on the 10th. We have tickets for most of the shows with prices hovering between £7 and £10.
