The Jezabels announce February/ March 2012 UK tour - tickets on sale now

Posted: 12 years ago

Hotly-tipped titular harridans The Jezabels are enjoying that most wonderful of things about the indie music scene - word of mouth.

The Aussie boy-girl-boy-girl four-piece formed in Sydney in 2007 when the band mates met at university there. With an eclectic indie sound, dressed with Hayley Mary's intoxicating lead vocal, The Jezabels have a broad appeal that is building considerable momentum. Note that 'Hayley Mary' is one person, as is keyboardist Heather Shannon. The two boys, Nik Kaloper and Samuel Lockwood, may blend into the background just a little (sorry lads) but they do at least have proper surnames.

The Jezabels have been creating quite a stir since their debut LP, 'Prisoner', reached No 2 on the Australian charts after its September 2011 release. The record will be released in the UK (on PIAS) on Monday 5th March. The band's rise has followed a clutch of EPs that preceded the debut album, and which generated a college radio buzz in the US and across the airwaves and on music television in Australia.

Following the recent announcement that the foursome would be headlining an NME Awards Show slot, and after a sold-out show at Heaven in London (which followed a sold-out autumn tour), The Jezabels have announced a European tour which begins in the UK in February 2012.

The UK dates kick off with that NME show at Koko in London on 22nd February, followed by gigs in Birmingham, Sheffield, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds and Manchester, before the final show at Audio in Brighton on Saturday 3rd March 2012.

We have tickets available now for all dates, priced £10.60 for the London NME show and £8 for all other dates. A bargain.
