Forgive us for running on about new tickets, but this week's new on-sales are a tantalizing bunch and no mistake. Plan B, Laura Marling and Melanie C represent the musical heavyweights, while Cast, The Charlatans and Steel Panther aren't exactly short of eager fans, either.

Comedy-lovers are catered for by the enigmatic Ross Noble and Rhod Gilbert. It's going to be a busy Friday (if not before!).

Next year, as well as appearing in films, Plan B will be performing several shows at outdoor locations as part of the ongoing Forestry Commission Live Music 2012 series. All shows take place in June or July and take in Thetford Forest (15th June), Sherwood Forest Pines (16th) and many more until Delamere Forest on 7th July. All priced at £32.

After her recent sell-out church shows, Marling switches to more conventional venues for her Wisdom of Spring tour, including Cambridge's Corn Exchange (1st March), Birmingham's Symphony Hall (2nd), the Hammersmith Apollo (7th) and many more sizeable spaces until Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall on the 13th.

will take her new record and back catalogue of noughties pop hits on the road with six dates beginning in February at the Manchester Club Academy, followed by Newcastle, Glasgow, Sheffield and London (Islington Academy), before the final gig of 'The Sea Live' UK tour in Birmingham on Friday 2nd March 2012. £15 - £16.50.

Naturally, you want a little bit more of those horny big cats, right? Good job - they've announced a handful of their very own headlining shows, due to take place in March. Chosen cities so far include Birmingham (27th), Glasgow (28th), Manchester (30th) and finally Brixton on the 31st.Prices start at £16.

After performing the first of his Mindblender shows in Dublin on 28th September, he heads to Tunbridge Wells on 2nd October, Leicester on the 4th, followed by dozens more until two dates at the Hammersmith Apollo on 30th November and 1st December. Tickets go on sale from Friday morning at 10am, priced at around £25.

Rhod Gilbert Rhod Gilbert's extensive 'The Man with the Flaming Battenberg Tattoo' jaunt kicks off in Carlisle on 6th April, followed by shows ranging from Newcastle, Leeds and Liverpool, to Plymouth, Cardiff and three nights in Hammersmith (in July), followed by a concluding Fringe residency in Edinburgh from 15th to 26th August. With a new album, "Troubled Times", promised for next year, this tour should sell pretty quickly. First stop will be Newcastle on 29th March, followed by Glasgow, Liverpool, Leamington and more until Shepherd's Bush on 6th April. Tickets will be priced from £20 upwards for all shows (£22.50 for London). Leamington Spa (1st April) is available now.

'Tellin' Stories' is an important album for The Charlatans and their fans and is widely considered their last great album. The whole of the album will be performed in full at two gigs in the summer, beginning on Friday 8th June at the Hammersmith Apollo and followed by Glasgow Barrowland on the 9th. Tickets cost from £25.

Her April 'Version of Events' tour starts in Norwich on 4th April, with further dates in Leeds, Aberdeen, Liverpool, Glasgow, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham and finally London's Shepherds Bush Empire on 16th April, all costing £15 (£18 for London).

After a US tour, the musical show based on Green Day's iconic album, is coming to the UK in autumn next year for a busy tour beginning in Southampton on 9th October, moving to Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham before the final run of dates at the Hammersmith Apollo from 4th to 9th December 2012.

Mark King and co are back in 2012 with another extensive UK tour in October, which takes in Oxford, Folkestone, Bournemouth, Manchester and many more until the Royal Albert Hall in London on the 28th. Expect the usual classic catalogue run-through.

The purveyors of rib-ripping basslines and monster anthems such as "Open Up", "Africa Shox", "Dusted" and "Not Forgotten" will headline a special War Child night at the Brixton O2 Academy on 21st April. Joining them will be Booka Shade, Laurent Garnier, James Zabiela, M.A.N.D.Y. and many more.

In what is a busy week, other shows include Feeder (with an intimate acoustic tour), Major Lazer (Diplo and Switch's bashment project on tour), a reformed Bow Wow Wow on tour, metalcore outfit Of Mice and Men (UK tour), a string of dates for Wu-Tang's GZA, more shows for pop-starlet's Rebecca Ferguson and Cher Lloyd, more Powerpoint fun from Dave Gorman and the tenor, Alfie Boe (shows in Scotland).
