Coldplay, Alan Partridge, Tinie Tempah all Under 1 Roof for Dec 2011 O2 Arena charity gig - tickets on sale Friday 25th Nov
You get the impression that Chris Martin and his charges are the generous types that call in at every single charity shop in their respective hometowns, just to empty their wallets into the collection boxes. Truly, Coldplay are the gifted that keep on giving - and they're set to follow up their impending Little Noise Sessions in Hackney (featuring Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland) with an all-star charity extravaganza at the O2 Arena in just a few weeks' time.
On Saturday 10th December, Coldplay will headline Under 1 Roof, a show dedicated to raising much-needed funds for the children's charity, Kids Company. In a statement the band said:
"Kids Company is a phenomenal organisation that is very close to our hearts. We hope that people get behind the event to raise as much money for Kids Company as possible. On our side, we can promise anyone that buys a ticket that they'll be part of a very special night."
And judging by the line-up, they could be right. Steve Coogan will appear as Alan Partidge (aha!!), Tinie Tempah will appear as, er, Tinie Tempah, while Rob Brydon and Emeli Sandé have also been confirmed. More names may be announced in due course, but meanwhile we will have tickets for the event from Friday morning at 9am, priced at £49.50.
Kids Company works with vulnerable children and young people in some of the most deprived areas of London. Established in 1996, the kids' charity works across 4 centres and in 40 schools. If you want to make a donation to their worthy cause, head to www.kidsco.org.uk
